A stones throw from York racecourse is Middlethorpe Hall Hotel. This palatial William and Mary mansion is now a country house hotel filled with antiques, gilt framed portraits and flickering fires. 

Owned by the National Trust, Middlethorpe Hall is a William and Mary country house straight from the pages of 19th century romance novel. It occupies 20-acres of landscaped gardens on the outskirts of historic York and was our weekend getaway destination.

Middlethorpe Hall offers a peaceful retreat on the edge of Yorkshire's county town and within easy reach of its surrounding areas of outstanding natural beauty.
