Burton Agnes Hall is a magnificent 'lived-in' family home dating back to the C12th, located just under an hour's drive from Middlethorpe Hall.
Dating back to 1173, the Norman Manor House was built by Roger de Stuteville and designed by Robert Smithson, Master Mason to Queen Elizabeth 1. The house has suffered little from alterations or additions in its history and has never changed hands by sale, so remaining as a 'lived-in' home to the Boynton family, in Trust for its protection and upkeep.
The house and award-winning gardens are open to the public to be explored and enjoyed.
